Welcome to “Growing Up Gay”
Being young is hard. Being gay is harder. You’re looking at this blog for a reason. More than likely, you’re trying to understand your place in the world and find a peaceful balance between the expectations of friends and family, and the crazy urges and emotions that occupy your mind and body. You may feel like nobody understands what you’re going through. When everyone around you seems so different from yourself, it’s easy to feel alone and helpless.
But you are not alone. You are not helpless.
There’s no reason to feel isolated from society when so many of us have walked a mile in your shoes. The information presented in this blog is written from the real-world experience of “growing up gay,” and provided to as a guide to assist you on your road of self-discovery.
And even if you’re out… if you’re the Saturday night drag queen at the local dance club… or even the heroic, masculine quarterback unafraid of sharing your sexuality with the world… you’re welcome here.
The sole purpose of this blog is to share a wealth of life experience, realistic views of the gay world as they relate to “growing up” and “coming of age,” and commonsense advice on everything related to gay dating, sex, relationships, coming out, friends, family, and parents.
It is my firm hope that you will enjoy what I have to say here, and find some use in the information I provide.
Thanks for reading.
